WHAT IS THE BLENDED LEARNING ?
Blended learning (or blended training) is a system that combines two learning modalities: e-Learning and face-to-face (traditional training).
The trainee is placed at the heart of the training process and is an actor in its training. This type of training promotes interactivity and online training. The trainee feels more involved, and therefore more motivated. The face-to-face sessions allow him to exchange, dialogue with the instructor and other trainees, work collaboratively and enrich his training.

There is no blended learning model; all combinations are possible. The training can be more e-learning-oriented, with a few face-to-face sessions to exchange and to put the theory into practice. The training can mainly be given in person, but it starts with an introductory module in Learning with preparatory exercise and ends with a module for validating eLearning knowledge.
The trainee can choose where he or she wants to work (at work, at home or elsewhere) and when he or she can work (during company hours, in the evenings or on weekends). But it is always up to the instructor to choose the elements studied online and those studied in person. The instructor is the key interlocutor who transmits knowledge and guides the trainee.
THE ADVANTAGES OF BLENDED LEARNING FROM THE TRAINEE’S POINT OF VIEW
In this type of “active” learning, the trainee is more active, controls the resources they want to use, actively works on the material and appropriates it though collaborative or teamwork.
TO EACH HIS OWN RHYTHM
The trainee studies the e-Learning modules at his own pace and as many times as he wishes.
PERSONALISED TRAINING PATHWAY
eLearning makes it possible to offer the trainee a personalised training course, thanks to content adapted to his level, and gradually increase the difficulty to reach the goal of the training.
The LMS reporting tools (progression of training modules, quiz results, etc.) allow the instructor to identify the levels of trainees, and then to carry out personalised monitoring and adapt the work in persona according to the profiles of the trainees.
ACCESS TO RESOURCES FROM ONE PLACE
The trainee accesses their training resources from the same location. All he needs is a terminal (PC, tablet or smartphone) and an internet connection, which allows him to follow a lesson, watch a video or access any resource anywhere and anytime. He no longer has to worry about having printed or recorded on his computer this or that document.
Some LMS also allow mobility to continue to access its training, even without an internet connection.
MORE FLEXIBILTY IN YOUR SCHEDULE
The trainee organizes their online training according to their schedule. He is no longer forced to take training in a rigid time slot.
TIME SAVING
It only takes a few seconds for the trainee to connect to their online training. It is free of logistical constraints, such as travel.
MORE ACTIVE TRAINEE
The trainee learns the theory with online resources. Face-to-face time is then used to join practice to theory and exchange.
LEARNING NEW TECHNOLOGIES
Moments of exchange and collaborative work are not reserved for face-to-face time. The trainee learns to study, work and collaborate online with modern tools (tools for planning, collaborative writing, synchronous communication, chat, forum, social networks, etc.).
BLENDED LEARNING TEMPLATES
The pedagogy of blended learning means that the role of the instructor is to facilitate the trainee’s learning and control of his objectives, which is a change with the traditional model.
ROTATION MODEL
Trainees exchange between educational workstations in and out of the classroom.
FLEXIBLE MODEL
The main source of content is the Internet, and the instructor provides individualized support as needed.
A LA CARTE MODEL
Trainees choose online classes at home or school in addition to the regular classes.
ENHANCED VIRTUAL MODEL
Most of the teaching is done at a distance and is combined with occasional classes at the school.
